Due to customer demand we are now selling 1U racks able to accept any of the following cassettes: SL501 SL502 SL505 SL510 SL521 SL520 SL522 SL503 SL527 SL524 SL532 SL542 SL543 SL544 SL553 SL555 SL551 SL552 SL553 SL559 SL571 SL574 SL575 SL578.
We are able to offer our 1U racks as complete, powered, tested units, just an empty box with cassette guides fitted, or anything in between.
EQ rack – 2 x SL502 pre–owned cassettes (balanced)

Our most popular rack is built using the SL502 EQ. The 502 has a circuit design similar to the famous 4000 series black (242) EQ with a bottom end that has also been compared to the Neve V/Prism series, we have found it to be very popular with studios who want to add a flavour of SSL to their setup and mastering engineers who love the accuracy and precision of the SSL5000 series. We believe that ours are the only units on the market which are constructed using genuine SSL hybrid balancing/ unbalancing stages, bus cards, cables and connectors taken from the original console.
The majority of cassettes you will find on the market un-racked were taken from consoles where they were installed in a channel strip, this means that the balancing stages were contained in the input/output module.
SSL consoles are renowned for their audio quality, reliability, and ease of maintenance, and we have chosen to build our products this way so as not to compromise on any aspect of these high end audio tools.
Construction:

- Tough, classic style, satin black powdercoated metalwork
- Removable rack ears enable unit to be rackmounted or freestanding
These racks have the same buscard and cassette guide system that SSL used in the original console. Therefore the modules can be simply removed
from the front of the rack allowing easy maintenance should you ever need to.

Self build 1U Box
£130 (+VAT and postage)
This version of the unit is provided fitted only with cassette guides, leaving you to fit connectors and wire it all up. RS, Farnell etc. part numbers can be supplied for connectors that the box was designed to accept, and other components that you will need to finish the project.
This box has cutouts for XLRs, IEC mains, DC power connector, and a power switch, this allows for it to be built with an internal or external power supply. It is available as a 4 or 8 x XLR version. Note that the unit is supplied with the power switch cutout blanked off with a polycarbonate overlay, this is easily removed if you should want to fit a switch on the front of the unit.
